Denis Nurmela is much more than just a speaker, author coach and mentor. He has run companies since he was 9 years old, served in the US Air Force, had a medical career as a surgical assistant, and taught college. He also has 6 adult children and at least 11 grandchildren (maybe more by the time you are reading this). He travels the world speaking, putting on workshops and loves what he does. Denis currently lives in China where he is continuing to share his love of teaching entrepreneurship, public speaking and English to college students. Denis Nurmela was born at Travis Air Force Base when his father was a member of the US Air Force and stationed at a remote location in Alaska. At age 9 Denis, then known as "Denny" started his first business which was a community ecology organization. He was president, his brother Scott was the Vice President and their neighbor was the secretary. The neighborhood residents would save their glass bottles and newspapers for the boys to take and recycle. The money raised recycling was used to help purchase tools like brooms the boys would use to sweep the sidewalks once a week or the might decide to purchase someone a new trash can to replace an old one for one of the neighbors.

From age 9 into adulthood Denis always ran a company either part time or full time even when he was serving himself as a member of the US Air Force and as a surgical assistant for 15 years. During his years he has reached multi-million dollar levels of revenue and has also experienced losses that he learned greatly from. Now Denis is an international keynote speaker, published author, mentor and coach for many high-end business and successful clients. Denis also is founder and Executive Director of YESplace (Young Entrepreneur Success Place), an organization helping youth ages 12-25 start and run their own businesses. He lived 55 years of his life in the United States and now lives in China helping their youth change their world.

Denis is also proud of his family which includes 6 adult children and (at the time of this update) 10 grandchildren who all live in the USA. Denis said about his move to China, "Now that my children are grown, it is time to make a big change in my life. Change keeps us young! I will learn a new language, culture and to live life in a whole new way. When we stop learning we stop living!"

One of Denis' great person accomplishments was to release 80 pounds (36.3 kg) in his early 50's. He ran the Los Angeles Marathon at age 53 and plans to continue with his healthy lifestyle.
